It’s a rainy Monday, sheltering in, again, hoping for some positive signs that the pandemic is slowing. For some reason my wandering mind took me back to one of my favorite photos of a wood duck. I find the design to be almost unreal, but then I’ve only ever seen photos of a mandarin duck, another spectacularly colored waterfowl. I took this shot in the autumn when the male wood duck’s colors are the brightest, a factor in the mating season.
