Beach Squirrel


Squirrels hang out on the rocks that line the hills overlooking Carmel-by-the-Sea beach. I know this because when let our dogs off leash, they run to the rocks to sniff out the squirrels that hide in the crevices. No harm is done.

      They eat scraps from beach goers, but that was when the beach was full and people threw their blankets near the rocks. Now there are no beach blankets. Also, there are droppings from various conifers that line the cliffs overlooking the rocks.
