Social Distancing at the Beach

Here’s a photo that didn’t make sense until this summer: social distancing at the beach, in this case, Carmel River State Beach. California has some of the best sand and sun places in the world, but, during the pandemic, the attraction can be a problem if people crowd.

The beaches are in Monterey County which also encompasses agricultural lands. The county had its highest number of Covid-19 cases reported in one day this week:166. The next big test is the start of school next month. It looks like in-classroom instruction will be delayed.
