There is a certain bravado around here with the guys who cut down old dying trees. They hang from ropes and whip chain saws like toys, all while high above the ground. In this photo the subject holds the saw with one hand and a rope in the other for balance as he stretches to cut off a branch tied to another branch so it won’t fall down on the roof of a house when it is “timber” time. Worked to perfection! I did this once many years ago–the branch I had tied off swung back and forth in mid air after I cut it, barely missing my face several times.
