In reviewing photos I’ve taken of butterflies, I was surprised by how many showed wing damage. This is an issue I will research. Here’s a shot of a painted lady with a torn right wing–didn’t notice it until I looked at photos taken in September over the past three years. Incidentally, I couldn’t find any monarchs with tattered wings.
