Painted lady photographed yesterday amid the haze of wildfire smoke.
Despite wildfire hazy sky and sometimes hazardous air, I hope October will once again be butterfly month in our backyard. So far I’ve seen/photographed a skipper, a painted lady and a cabbage white along with thousands of honey bees. In fact, I am clicking the camera to the constant drone of bees collecting nectar from ivy growing on a pergola by raised flower beds. Peace.
Bees love the ivy blooms. The ivy climbs about 12-feet up on a pergola, attracting bees, butterflies and various other insects. The ivy is the center of an eco system.
My labels: grandfather, father, veteran, writer, poet, photographer and dreamer in pursuit of the meaning of life. Getting close, although I'm running out of time--probably why I'm so close.
