Bears

Black bears have adapted to people–grizzlies have not.

A few days ago I took a photo of a black bear drinking water by a house in Truckee, California. I kept my distance as its size was daunting for an animal wandering among areas where people live. Yesterday, a California woman on a bike/camping trip was killed by a grizzly bear in Western Montana. Grizzlies are considered extinct in California where their much smaller and gentler counterparts, the black bear, has learned to open doors to houses and cars in its search for food.

    1. What’s scary is how fast these bears move. They look clumsy but are anything but that.
