Today in Sacramento with most of the red leaves on the ground, the color showcase goes to the brilliant yellow leaves of the ginkgo tree. California’s capital city is known as the “city of trees.” In the Land Park area where these photos were taken, sycamores are the most common tree, but unfortunately their leaves turn a dull yellow and brown in the fall, making the ginkgo, which is last to lose it leaves, the hands down winner of fall colors on this day.
