At age 77 I made the best coffee of my life
At space 405, North Pines Campground
Yosemite.
3:30 p.m.
August 22,
Waiting for a crack of thunder
In the Valley
While savoring Peet’s Major Dickinson Blend
Brewed from Jetboil water
With a slow, cool and clean breeze
And the low roar of the Merced River
Still mighty this late in the year.
Now I’ve had coffee all over the world
At grim times and in moments of joy–
But with only so many coffees remaining,
This one has a taste I won’t forget.
