I volunteer to clean Carmel-by-the-Sea beach. Usually, the job involves removing dog waste and plastic trash from the beach. Unfortunately, this morning I found a dead harbor seal. When the seal is alive, I call the Marine Mammal Center. The city is responsible for removing large, dead marine life.

I have been rewarded many times over for the volunteer work I do. Last year I encountered a habor seal in stress on the beach. I called the Marine Mammal Center which sent a crew to transport the seal back to their Hospital. The Center recently released this seal back into the ocean. Richard
