A red dragonfly inspects a water lily pod…for the last time at the pond in William Land Park, Sacramento. The city removed the fast spreading water lilies this year. I don’t know why, but I do know Sacramento has a mosquito problem and a dragonflies feast on mosquitoes. Besides, I enjoy photographing dragonflies and water lilies. And unlike jittery hummingbirds, the red dragonfly will hover around flowers, allowing me to get a focused shot.
