We are a nation of anger. I say that as I look at my posts of butterflies, dogs and clouds. Does not compute. Admittedly, it is difficult to write about peaceful aspects of life with so much hate swirling around. The options are limited, falling between doing nothing and unleashing personal anger. The extremes are unhealthy. My path, when disclosed, would be labeled with negatives created by someone, somewhere; and that would be okay. If your core values are kept secret, they have no value, a concept first identified by Marcus Tullius Cicero in 44 (the Year)when he wrote…it is not enough to possess virtue, as if it were an art of some sort, unless you make use of it…the existence of virtue depends entirely upon its use.

Civil discussion is sorely needed, regardless of the anger on the left or the right. Those words sound weak, but with an open mind and a belief in the common good, they are the strongest path to peace. But don’t expect much press coverage until the voices for peace drown out those who want war or more wealth.
