There is beauty in aging metal. It becomes softer with rust rounding edges and pitting surfaces to produce a sunset of its own. The photo on the left was taken at Fort Cronkhite, Marin County, California. The fort was a key WWII site overlooking the Pacific Ocean–set up to defend the coast from enemy invasion. The photo is a close-up of a metal door on an ammo storage facility that is rusting away. The photo on the right is a typical sunset along the Monterey, California coast.
