DSC_0215 - Copy - Copy (2) - CopyI took a photo of the Tower Bridge, Sacramento, California two nights ago. Actually it is a reflection of the bridge in the waters of the Sacramento River. I rotated the image so it would fit our “brain”; i.e., upside down images don’t compute.

I live near the bridge, so it is a structure firm in my mind. Perhaps, to someone outside of Sacramento, this photo might appear to be a painting by a Claude Monet understudy, or a view through the rain splattered window of a car. Hey, this watery reflection could be something out of the brushes of the late painter Thomas Kinkade who was born in Sacramento. Regardless, there is more at play here.

Images of places I know from experience by default are a special category of photography for me. I know the reality of the image so well, that I look at it in a way very different from someone who has never been to Sacramento. So, this photo is simply one of one hundred ways that I view a backyard landmark. If others like it, then great.

Brings back some good memories when we lived in Davis and went to Sacramento….first going over the causeway and then over the Tower Bridge.
