
When I first took this photo of a side entrance to the duomo in Ravenna, Italy, the digital image appeared to be over exposed. But the elements of dramatic contrast were present: steps into darkness and a bright sun on brick. I corrected the exposure to produce what I saw with the naked eye.

Nice! Taking photos of scenes with major sun/shadow contrast is currently top of my practice list. I’m drawn to that kind of image, but find it so difficult to capture what I see….hopefully I’ll get it one day soon.
