Weekly Photo Challenge: Contrasts

When I first took this photo of a side entrance to the duomo in Ravenna, Italy, the digital image appeared to be over exposed. But the elements of dramatic contrast were present: steps into darkness and a bright sun on brick. I corrected the exposure to produce what I saw with the naked eye.

      Thank you. The marker for getting the right contrast on this photo is that thin line of weeds growing through the outside concrete–I didn’t see any weeds when I reviewed the shot on my camera.
