Pigeons of The Tower Bridge

The low November sun struck Sacramento’s  Tower Bridge yesterday afternoon, releasing the full glow of the gold colored girders. Although I went to check out the “glow,”  I was intrigued by the scores of pigeons perched along the top span of the bridge. Every few minutes they would fly from the bridge out over the Sacramento River and back, covering a distance of maybe 200 feet. A local told me the pigeons fly when the girders vibrate from traffic and that the do this all day long.
