I was driving in Monterey (California) yesterday when I made a wrong turn–went past a very red loveseat in the street. Almost stopped to take a photo. Found my way and ended up with another view of the red sofa and, for purposes of perspective, a silver fire hydrant. I remember as a kid that fire hydrants were always red. But these days hydrants are color coded to correspond to available water pressure–red is the lowest.
