There are several former military installations on the edges of San Francisco that have been turned into parklands and, as shown in this photo, they house “the art of metal corrosion.” One of my favorite pieces is a door on a WWII depot that glistens in sunlight, no longer offering protection, only the curiosity of metal fatigue..
