Wild Turkeys in the Big City

I went to a meeting yesterday morning in a Sacramento office building. There was a coffee vendor in the mezzanine and wild turnkeys by the entrance in this metropolitan area of over one million. One expert by the elevator said it was the first frost of the season, so the turkeys were probably drawn by the heat of the building. I assume they “live” along the heavily wooded banks of the nearby Sacramento River, or else downtown somewhere.
