I took this shot of our vibrantly colored koi shortly before we moved them to a friend’s koi pond. Raccoons were invading our backyard–the whitish one above sustained a gash from a raccoon attack. Although we built underwater shelters for them to hide in when under siege, we thought it best that they spend their golden years in a safer place.
