Thursday Poetry: The Caged Lion

The Caged Lion

Inside a long yawn

Lurks

The muted spirit

Of a caged lion.

The scars from his mate,

Unseen by others.

The occasional roar.

A fading instinct.

The next feeding,

Scheduled.
