
It took me 87 shots to capture one honey bee with swollen pollen sacs (the yellow bulges on the legs).

While I have hundreds of photos of honey bees at work, including landing at the hive with full pollen sacs, I didn’t have any while the bees were the pr0cess of collecting pollen…until yesterday.
While you might think the full sacs are like flying around with cement shoes, the bee manages to dart around, making close-up, focused photos difficult. Rather than follow their flight with my camera, I picked one spot and waited. Try it.
