Squirrel at Beach

I assume this squirrel was watching the tide come in at Carmel Beach.  Why else would it be riveted on a rock with nothing to see but sand and ocean? It didn’t move…in fact, I wasn’t sure it was alive at one point. I guess it was taking some meditation time.
