Three days ago I posted about the mushrooms growing on our dead oak. Today I noticed even more mushrooms. Should I be concerned? Getting the shovel ready.

I vaguely recall a movie back in the 50’s about alien “pods”. They kinda look like your mushrooms (are they really mushrooms?). Just don’t go to sleep, that’s when they invade get you and take over the earth!!!

The 1956 classic “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” is the movie in question. Filmed in black and white to emphasize its film noir style, it has a “perfect” ending, in my opinion. The fleeing heroes are shown in a freeze frame with fear on their faces, suggesting they might not survive…but we’ll never know for certain. Love this movie, but not so much the mushrooms.
