Yesterday afternoon a highly visible moon settled over my neighbor’s chimney–two houses away. Rather than retrieve a telephoto lens, I used the camera as is with a 50mm Nikkor lens (1:1.4). I was surprised by the clarity of the chimney with all those spikes intended to shoo away birds–I hadn’t noticed them before. And the moon was still the moon. It’s an odd shot, but one that reminds me that there’ll be a super moon in two days. (I’ll use a telephoto lens at that time.)
