Ivy Action, Inaction

Our ivy is the focal point for honey bees at this time of year. Strangely, I haven’t  seen  a single butterfly in the ivy this season. The shot below was taken a year ago when butterflies were everywhere.

    1. Loss of habitat due to forest fires and development have contributed to the decline. Global warming is clearly a factor in forest fires. Trees are succumbing to disease, providing kindling for the fires. Development depletes our water table as well as habitat. We’re doing everything wrong.
