I like green, not the money, but plants, particularly our well traveled maidenhair fern, shown above. I’ve subjected it to the stress of transplanting it from ground to pot, pot to ground and finally to a pot where it now rests outside by our front door. It has looked  like near death on several occasions. When I stuffed it into a large pot at the start of this year, I was convinced it wouldn’t survive. It doesn’t get any direct sunlight, it’s root bound and the water here is hard–I’ve read that the fern should be given soft water, but that’s not going to happen.

To our surprise the fern has a  healthy green glow like never before–we’ve had it over ten years. It’s nice to pass by its renewed life when entering the house.

Why is it doing so well? Well, the dogs don’t trample it anymore–maybe it simply likes its new position.

My labels: grandfather, father, veteran, writer, poet, photographer and dreamer in pursuit of the meaning of life. Getting close, although I'm running out of time--probably why I'm so close.
