Carmel Light, Sunset Thoughts

DSC_0014 - Copy.JPG

Here are some shots taken near sunset in Carmel. Sometimes the hue is red or pink, but mostly it is golden if the sun is visible.

What are people are thinking during these final moments of daylight? I’m usually a walker, if not a photographer, during these times. The moving part is attributable, in part, to two leashed dogs pulling me towards the surf. But given the opportunity to be without dogs, I’d still walk. My thought processes are “calmer” when I am putting one foot in front of the other. Maybe it’s the notion that this moment is short-lived, so I better make the most of it; i.e. get some exercise and fresh air into my lungs. Or, maybe I don’t need a reason to justify what I love about being free. I could truly wander on this one by launching into the social anxiety in this country emboldened by the politics of divisiveness, but let’s keep that issue off the beach. Breathe in, breathe out. Peace.

My labels: grandfather, father, veteran, writer, poet, photographer and dreamer in pursuit of the meaning of life. Getting close, although I'm running out of time--probably why I'm so close.
