Snowy Egrets are careful. They usually wait for calm waters at low tide to find a meal in the kelp that washes up on the beach. This week’s stormy weather has been a challenge for them. They are forced to find high ground closest to the area where kelp rolls in with the tide. They stalk the waves, waiting for the right moment to swoop down for a meal of sand crabs, krill and other sea life caught in tangled sea weed/kelp.
