


The Townsend Warbler in our front yard has a personality, at least that was true for the one I saw yesterday. Unlike other birds it didn’t fly away when I approached. Occasionally it would look at me with mild interest, but mostly it was intent on hopping around the Carmel Creeper Wild Lilac that covers half of our yard. I assume it was looking for insects on the underside of the leaves. However, it didn’t fear that I was towering over it (with my camera). I was part of the landscape. Eventually, I left the bird alone.
This song bird has extraordinary coloring as shown in the photos. It is found in the Pacific Northwest and in our front yard. Peace.
