My father first told me this rhyme when I was a child. He’s passed on, but I think of him at every red sunrise. He was weather savvy, having been a squadron leader and navigator on a B-17 during WWII. His service is always part of the memory, in part, because he rarely talked about it except at a red sunrise when we were on our way to play golf. Rain gear…check!
