End of Year, End of Tree

The base of the tree was split vertically.

Late yesterday afternoon, about eight hours before the end of the year, gusty winds toppled a giant fir tree down the street from us. Fortunately, no one was struck, but the tree did come to rest on three vehicles while blocking the entire road. Given all the natural disasters in the world, this was a messy speck of dust.
