
Every year I take hundreds of photos of pelicans. I like how they glide along the coast in formation, or dive into the ocean for food. In the majority of the shots, this big bird’s colors are dull, chiefly due to lack of bright light to accentuate the various hues of the feathers, neck, head and beak. Here is one of my few captures of a pelican flying on a sunny day. The result doesn’t look real.
