For over 150 years the camellia has been celebrated in California’s state capital , Sacramento, in February and March. But these are rain months, typically subjecting the blooms to a pelting that softens the petals. Still, these rain soaked flowers have showcase beauty on the stem although they fall apart if picked. Hummingbirds and honey bees love the yellow center.
