
These harbor seals live in the Point Lobos area. When they lay on rocks, it always appears as though “room” is at a premium–either the rocks are too small, or the seals are too big. They weigh close to 300 pounds.
The males live 20 to 25 years while females out live them by an average of 10 years. Males are more likely to become agitated than the longer-living females. Makes sense.
