Sacramento, the “City of Trees” is fast becoming the “City of Leaf Piles.” However, the trees are surprisingly still full of leaves for late November, so the piles will continue to grow and to present a problem starting tomorrow when rain is due for a 48-hour period. The leaves block the drains that keep water from ponding on the streets and I expect the leaf fall to double during the rainfall. Large accumulations of snow are expected in the Sierras, about 90 miles away. Getting to the mountains in stormy weather before Thanksgiving will not be easy. The weather, in general, has not been easy this year.
