
Ivan gets more walks these days now that COVID-19 has shut down much of the activity in California. Carmel, a tourist area, has a large number of restaurants, now shuttered. The local supermarket is short of water and chicken on a daily basis because some people are hoarding those goods. But walkers are out in full force, many of them, I assume ordered not to go to work. Surely, this will pass, a biblical thought.
I’ve seen acts of kindness, mostly small gestures such as someone paying it forward at Starbucks by buying Anne a coffee, or a wave hello from six feet away.
The New Normal is to be dealt with in a safe and sane fashion and, if nothing else, have us answer why we are here.
