Temps are expected to reach 107-degrees F today in Sacramento. So, I am posting a photo of an alpine lake about an hour + north of the city in the Sierras. Actually, the hour+ is to parking along a dirt road. Next, there is a 30-minute hike that gets you to what is called “the crooked lakes,” where the water is clear and a little cold, but very swimmable. No crowds (they are all stuck in traffic on I-80 on their way to Tahoe).
