The Answers

Answers forged from countless errors in judgment, temperament and desires

Arrive late in life, almost cruelly in how their perfected wisdom

Obliterates mistakes that caused anguish in years past.

True answers, impossible to foretell, require forgiveness and acceptance

So the fanfare of everyday life becomes an unexpected gift from a stranger,

The simplicity of the sun slowly clearing away the fog,

Moving the queen to H1 for a surprise checkmate,

Or, the endless joy in an afternoon for no reason.

Embrace the answers for better tomorrows for all you love,

For without answers there is no hope and without hope, no answers.

My labels: grandfather, father, veteran, writer, poet, photographer and dreamer in pursuit of the meaning of life. Getting close, although I'm running out of time--probably why I'm so close.
