This path is one I long for at the end of a very dry summer with no hint of fall…standard for the central California coast. We need some moisture. Took this photo of Jockey Hollow, a federal park near where I grew up in New Jersey. Yes, we have woods in Jersey along with a rich history of how this country was formed. Anyway, it was raining lightly when I took this hike–the air was fresh and the only living thing I encountered was a deer (no surprise here as Jersey is over run with these four-legged forest creatures). It’s amazing that I could be so close to the most populated city in the country and not see anyone. I can still feel the raindrops.
