Our ivy is the focal point for honey bees at this time of year. Strangely, I haven’t  seen  a single butterfly in the ivy this season. The shot below was taken a year ago when butterflies were everywhere.

    A lot less of big species of butterflies in our yard this year. Global warming?

      Loss of habitat due to forest fires and development have contributed to the decline. Global warming is clearly a factor in forest fires. Trees are succumbing to disease, providing kindling for the fires. Development depletes our water table as well as habitat. We’re doing everything wrong.
