In the Eye of the Pelican

DSC_0112 - Copy (2) - CopyYesterday hundreds of pelicans landed at Carmel River State Beach. They are presumably migrating from Canada to warmer waters. I went in the middle of the gathering to get these shots.

Pelicans land in the fresh water of the Carmel River, about  300 feet from the Pacific Ocean.

I walked into the center of this mix of pelicans and sea gulls.

    Excellent captures and it must have been an experience regardless of the phographs Steffen. By the way what is the 67 for. If it is year of birth it makes 2 of us

      1967 was a year of profound developments for me; from a first love (didn’t work out) to abandoning fun for serious academics (unfortunately, I was starting my senior year in college, so I was a very late bloomer). In brief, it was the year I woke up.
