After a day of rain this old, tall camellia tree had one bloom and one bloom only, although it looks like more are to come. This tree had been sporting few flowers in past years, in part, because of drought conditions and its position of facing full sun exposure for most of the day. But we may have a series of warm weather storms on the coast this month. Frankly, the climate is out of balance here. No rain, then too much rain. The ocean has been pounding the coastline with high tides…eroding areas other than those of solid rock. California poppies were in bloom yesterday, about a month earlier than normal. There is no normal anymore.
